In December 2005, after much discussion, our Toyota Innova finally rolled into our lives. It was a tough choice to make-between the Mahindra Scorpio, the Chevorlet, Tavera and Innova. But the Toyota quality ultimately sealed the deal. The car also met my father's professional requirement (he is a civil engineer and travels a lot) My sports also requires me to travel all over the country. As a family we have always believed in quality and economy as primary factors for purchase. The Innova met our standards. It was fuel efficient, gave great milage and was very comfortable. So the Innova is now part of the family. After some initial problem when smoke was being generated, we consulted the service manager of our dealer who told us not to use diesel with additives. The faulty injectors were promptly replaced by the company (free of cost) Since then we have traveled many hassle free miles. More importantly, the Innova has helped us create some great memories as a family. we have seen a variety of places and people that have all been possible through our journeys. My first memory is the trip to Chennai for national junior athletic championships. I won a gold medal in 100 mts hurdles. This made it very special. One of the most exciting trip was to kemmanagundi falls near coorg. It was monsoon and rain was thrashing down as we climbed the ghats upto the falls. The road was narrow and steep on one side. It made it even more dangerous. Our hearts were in our mouths with every hair pin bends we cleared, the easy maneuvering of the Innova saw us through. On the way back down down, the water had submerged the road was flooded, but the Innova took us all safely and soundly. Every trip we made in our car is special. We have traveled 35000 kms. Once we spent the whole day in the car as it was too hot outside and the accommodation was not to our satisfaction. This I think highlights the role Innova plays in our lives. It is our Home on wheels. KA-03, ME-6340 Pallavi Sukumar |
